ABC Challenge: P

Hiya! Well we've just had the most beautifully sunny day ever here in Wellington - light cool breeze and endless sun... Mmmm it was gorgeous! And because it's put me in the mood for gorgeous things, I thought I'd share some absolutely gorgeous polishes! There are plenty of photos to look at (five extremely photogenic polishes, and one extra...) so let's get to it!

These are my very first piCture pOlish lacquers and I'm not at all disappointed - they absolutely delivered the delicious formula and shades I was expecting. I was having a really crappy day (an extremely beloved kitty cat of mine passed away after suddenly getting sick) so I went a little click-crazy and ordered five of these polishes. The lovely girls who run the site snuck an extra one in for me too - cheeky! If you want to drool all over your keyboard / phone, go check out the full range of piCture pOlish lacquers here. They're created and based in Australia so I was able to purchase relatively cheaply straight from their site (which ships worldwide), but for those of you who are State-side, they also stock on other websites such as Llarowe and Harlow and Co.

The polishes I purchased are Sky, Honey Dew, Fairy Floss, Mad Magenta, and Lagoon (which was a collaboration shade with nail blogger Fashion Polish). The cheeky girls slipped Ruby Blou in as well - a glitter topper that I wore over Sky but we'll get to that in a minute. First up - Sky!
 Two coats, no top coat.
Something I haven't come across an awful lot is photos of the brushes of indie / lesser-known polishes. I realised when ordering the polishes that I had no idea what kind of brush they have. Brushes can make a big difference for me (I LOVE the big wide flat ones like OPI and Rimmel London) so I was super pleased when I saw the brush on these! Wide and straight, just how I like 'em ^_^.
Next is a polish I have been drooling over and dying to get on my tips since Marta took such amazing photos of it! Here's Honey Dew. I'm obsessed with this colour - my wallet, handbag and phone case are all variations of this shade =P.
 Two coats, no top coat.
I could quite happily wear this completely delicious shade in some form every day and not get bored with it - so fresh and light, I love it!

Because no polish order is complete without a pink, I bought Fairy Floss in the hopes that it'd be a nice brighter-than-nude pastel shade. Yep, it's yum.
 Two coats, no top coat.
I honestly think everyone needs this. I don't care if you don't like / wear pink - you need it!

This next one is a bit more intense than I was expecting - when they said "mad', they weren't kidding! Mad Magenta is another stunner.
 Two coats, no top coat.
Look at that high-gloss shine! *swoon*! It's a bit, uhm, bold for my everyday tastes but I know I'm going to love and use this baby for a looooong time to come.

Lagoon is even more beautiful than I could have ever imagined, and I have a pretty great imagination. The depth, colour and finish on this makes it completely drool-worthy. I suspect it'll be on my toesies for those Summer days by the water...
This was three thin coats with a coat of Seche Shrink Vite on top. Being a bit more sheer means the depth is amazing! It almost looks like you could actually swim in it... This polish reminds me of long summer nights at the beach with fresh clear water - those nights when you don't get out of the water til 9pm because the sun's still pretty much up. For those of you who haven't had a "kiwi Summer", you totally need to try it someday!

And a macro shot, just 'cause I can ;-).
Don't you just wanna dive right in?!?? I added a coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust over Lagoon because a) Fairy Dust should be put over EVERYTHING and b) I knew this would look incredible with a hint of holo depth added in. Is this breathtaking or what?
Remember that clicking the photos will enlarge them / show them 'actual size' =)

Last up I have Ruby Blou - the sweetest surprise addition to my little parcel. Red, blue and silver multi-sized glitter makes this seem patriotic (NZ's flag is red, white, and blue too, ya know!) and it looks beautiful layered over Sky. Or anything, for that matter. Must try it over red...
I used two coats and a coat of Seche Vite over two coats of Sky for these photos.
Basque in the beauty! 'Scuse the gaps at the tip - turns out I suck at getting TC on smoothly >_<. The crystal clear base of this polishes makes the glitter look extra floaty - always a bonus.
So are you sold? I am... I'm itching to get back on their site now LOL. *The addiction is strong with this one*. A super huge mega THANK YOU to the lovely girls who were extra sweet and quick!! with this order. Knowing a brand is backed / made by truly lovely people makes such a difference. The downside is that now I want them to have all my money! I'm sure I'll be back... =P

I've got the photos for 'Q' all good to go - back to a single polish. Becky W if you're reading, check out the next post, it was created on your recommendation!

Thanks for reading / scrolling (let's be honest =P) and I hope you're all smiling and not sun-burnt like I am now >_< *puts on dunce cap*. Take care, and see you soon!
