Disclaimer: the terrible pun title was not my creation for once - OPI's naming team is getting worse!
Hello hello! Looks like the New Zealand nail addicts have been lucky enough to get our nabby little hands on the OPI Brazil collection a little ahead of quite a few places! I'm one of those annoying customers who comes back every few days "Have you got them in yet??!?" but it kinda wasn't my fault this time, because my local Farmers (department store not unlike Target) put the stands and names up, then left them empty! Ultimate tease! Anywho, last Friday I was on a break at work and popped in, and there they were!! They were so new out the codes wouldn't even scan at the till. I could only afford two at the time so I got a stunning perfect nude called Don't Bossa Nova Me Around which I'm sure I'll feature later on sometime, and this amazing "Jungle Green" (OPI), Amazon...Amazoff. I will be heading back for more, trust me. But today I want to share Amazon...Amazoff. Check it!
OPI describes this one as a Jungle Green but it is definitely decidedly a dark teal. The photo up there ^^ is the most colour-accurate I could get without turning my fingers yellow in all the photos. Purples and teals! So hard to capture accurately in photos! I've got an ombré / comparison further down so you'll have a point of reference to get the idea of this shade.
I used two coats with no top coats for these photos. As I said on my IG "It applies like a creme but sets like a jelly!". This formula is flawless - I can't express how happy I am with it! I've had some dodgy teals in the past so I'm delighted with this one
There is a veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery very very faint shimmer throughout Amazon...Amazoff that you can barely see in real life, so it wasn't even worth trying to get it 'on film'. Although you can't see it, it does HUGE favours for the formula. Two easy flawless buttery coats. Om nom nom.
I did a comparison on IG with OPI Fly and Ski Teal We Drop, so it seemed like a sensible thing to do to add a bluer polish on my pinky and create my first ever ombré mani! I chose the scrummy China Glaze First Mate. Hopefully this gives a little bit of an idea of where Amazon...Amazoff 'sits' in the OPI range. Fly was the one that came to mind when I saw AA in store so I started with that, but STWD seemed closer in the bottles when I got it home. Turns out they make a wonderful ombré set!
(Useless tip of the day: In manicure terms, an "ombré" refers to a graduation of colours across the nails ie one colour per nail. A "gradient" incorporates two or more colours on the same nail. The more you know!)
You can aaaaaalmost see the shimmer in this one if you click on it to make it full sized. Comparatively, Fly and STWD are traditional flat cremes without any shimmer. Fly's almost a jelly, really, if I'm honest. Moving on... I added some stamping with MoYou London's Pro Plate 01. The stamping is done with my trusty ol' BYS Black Stain. Ahhh it's been too long since I've cracked that one out!
I think this is about as 'edgy' as I've ever been with my nails hahahahaha.... *not much of a rebel*
My nails match my wallet! Well, a couple of the colours kinda do... I'll take what I can get! XD
Overall, I love this colour, the formula is impressive, and it's a unique colour in my collection. I loves it, I really do. It's going to be a great one for Autumn / Winter - a nice alternative to my usual plums and wines and dark berries. Oh, that sounds delicious, actually. Om nom nom.
Thank you for popping in! I'm hoping to have a Pink Wednesday post up tomorrow all going well, so stop by to check it out! Take care, lovelies ^_^.
