Whaaaaaat?? Two posts in two days??? This hasn't happened in months! Woo! Talk about starting off the way you wanna go on XP. Honestly, I just couldn't wait to share this mani - I LOVE how it turned out! Okay, there are still a couple of bumps along the road but this mani was super fun and easy to do, so I had to share straight away! The line-up:
L to R: piCture pOlish Fairy Floss (uh, duh...), Essie Liliacism (new formula, the old one is shite), Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau (haven't I seen that somewhere before...?), and Essie Mint Candy Apple (the one polish in my whole stash I have to stop myself from wearing EVERYDAY cos I luvs it so hard). Click on through to see what I got up to with these bad boys!
Over two very dry coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, I taped off four sections on each nail, then painted them in with each of the colours to create a simplified pastel rainbow. Cute, huh?
I used My Boyfriend Scales Walls instead of something like Sinful Colors Snow Me White because I didn't want a harsh WHITE background, and MBSW, being an off-white, is quite a bit softer. After peeling off the tape and touching the lines up a bit, I added a generous coat of Seche Vite to smooth everything out. I loves this so hard. So easy!
And because I now have a bottle of China Glaze Fairy Dust, it's become compulsory to apply it over EVERYTHING. GLITTER!
Fairy Dust gives that touch of something magical to any mani. This was a huge lemming of mine for a looooooong time, and I finally quashed it a couple of months back. Summer staple? Uh, yuh. (Oh, and excuse the random half-round, half-square nail on my middle finger. I had quite a serious break at work and refused to completely nubbinize. It's barely noticeable, right? Right??!? >.<).
I love how Fairy Dust floats over the whole mani. The lamp I use refuses to pick up holos, but you can just see a little glimpse of the rainbow-y beauty in FD. It sparkles like a mad bish in the sun. Whaddaya think, cute huh? I need to do more tape manis in the future - I keep forgetting how effective and EASY they are. For someone who severely sucks at freehanding, this sort of thing is wonderful to've discovered ;-).
Thank you so much for popping in, and I hope your New Years are all off to a glittery wonderful start, wherever you are!
