New Beginnings

~~Happy New Year!!!~~
I hope you've all had a blast over the course of 2013 and are looking forward to 2014 as much as I am!! 2013 was a bit of a rough one for me, so I'm looking forward to slightly smoother sailing throughout this coming year. In the spirit of new stuff, I've decided to flake out of the ABC challenge (lol, I'm so slack...) and just post whatever I'm inspired by! I found toward the end there that I was resenting *having* to stick to a specific letter when I had so many gorgeous polishes and interesting ideas floating around! Having said that, today's post (first in '14! Woo!) was going to be my 'T' post (obviously...) but I loved it so much that I figured I'd just skip 'S' (which has been in the draft folder for two weeks -.-) and jump ahead with what I really wanted to share. Behold, OPI Tiffany Case and Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau.

I'd been trying to use polishes that I hadn't featured before, and when I got these two stunners on, I was gob-smacked that I hadn't worn them yet! I've now worn them both a couple of times and am loving them. Signs of a true addict? Lololol...
I used two coats of each for these photos, with no top coat.
I added some stamping to my middle finger with the unbelievably amazing MoYou London Sailor Plate 06. These plates have been floating around all over the blogs, and if you're new to them I suggest checking out Sammy's review here. I can't rave about them enough! Because I needed a bit more bling, I added a gradient in Born Pretty Store 'Glequins' (coined by the magical Miss Sammy - bigger than glitter but smaller than sequins). The colour change didn't translate into the photos, but I promise it's there! Dark blue at the tip > aqua in the middle > silver at the base.
Can you see it? A little maybe? The effect IRL was very very cool. I got so excited that I posted it to Instagram super early. I still think it's pretty snazzy. And to those gals out there who regularly do glitter placement - I salute you! That [bleep] is hard!! Took me a couple of tries to get the silly things to sit flush to each other and there were still a few boo-boos along the way. At least I've learnt a few tricks if I ever try it again!

I wanted to include a closeup of the stamp because you guys know I am not the world's greatest stamper, but with the MoYou London plates and stamper, it's pretty much idiot-proof. Look how crisp and pretty it is!
As stated earlier I used the Sailor Plate 06 and Sinful Colors Snow Me White - such a great stamping polish. If you're looking to get into stamping (and can afford it!) I seriously recommend MoYou London plates - they make it SO easy, seriously.

My Mum and I reckon this mani was a bit mermaid-y, whaddaya think? I'm looking forward to playing with all my new beautiful polishes that I've treated myself to over the holiday period (yeah I seriously need to go on a no-buy, but people keep having sales!!) and sharing more manis with you guys over the new year. Bring on 2014!! Thanks so much for stopping by ^_^.
